Passed NCLEX 75 Question

PASSED NCLEX 75 QUESTION

By  Penelope Hil

I joined this wonderful group just 30 days
I graduated school in August 2019 passed NCLEX with 75 questions  SATA 😑at least 45-50 on 11/6/2019 :God did it! To say through family dilemma and just every day stresses.
Now, I used UWORLD(friend bless me with her account),Hurst (school set us up)and listened to Mark K audio
I did like 25 questions at intervals x4-5/day
Please practice SATA, know transfers;delegations,EKG basic how to id and what to do next,
Pheochromocytoma;what to look for(HTN)
Drag/drop in order :GI assessment,” ask about tenderness/discomfort “part of assessment. Parkinson, antipsychotic Meds ;side effects, etc. Lab values basic”male HCT (my question was like 32 hct;my flag /mind knew too low for a male )
4 Drug calculations:mUnit(Pitocin)
Peds dose;basic
1st/2nd/3rd preventions (that was a SATA for me for 1st prevention (mammogram, bicycling, etc)
Where to inject for best IM injection(on a diagram) assignment when a RN flows to another unit.
Oh yes, when it cut off on 75questions: I left “feeling so defeated πŸ˜•”;so many SATA, I cried.
I truly believe the Hurst/Uworld questions are much harder than NCLEX
Study /practice questions/listen to audio ;PRAY and just believe!
Mark K audio brings a lot of understanding simply put:
I am so proud and Truly thankful to say I am a RN (
Was LPN for 27yrs) Read the questions and choices several times
Hope it encourages someone
Remember everyone NCLEX questions may be different
But it’s like Mark K and Hurst lady says” NCLEX lady wants to know you are a safe nurse and know what everybody else knows (a new nurse)

Part One Truth Nclex Examination Experience

PART ONE TRUTH NCLEX EXAMINATION EXPERIENCE

BY Stephanie Hooks, RN. .

I would like to know about NCLEX. I have Been meaning to share my NCLEX experience. Graduated May 9th.

Took my NCLEX on June 27th and failed on all 265 questions. I was upset because I saw so many classmates passing including seeing people pass on all 265 and I had to face the NCLEX again.

But I basically failed because of anxiety over people asking me when I was going to take my test. People also kept telling me to take it within a month of graduating,

don’t wait longer than a month, don’t wait too long, etc. To top that, for my first attempt, I did very minimal content review.

I mostly relied on the Kaplan Q bank and Kaplan question trainers for my preparation. For content, I only looked at fluid and electrolytes and Acid-Base Balance for Hurst and the Maternity topics from Saunders.

I felt so much pressure and my anxiety got me.
Second attempt: I decided I was going to be calm and really take my time and not discuss my NCLEX prep with anyone. I did this and felt so calm at my NCLEX and calm during the 48 hour wait period.

I didn’t discuss the NCLEX with hardly anyone except managers, close family members, and one neighbor.

Basically, I only told the people who asked that absolutely had to know. Otherwise when people asked me when I was taking it, I just said “Soon.” I didn’t tell many people my test date.
So that I was amazed at how much calmer I was.

The second attempt:

I took the 4th of July week off and started studying again July 10th. A classmate who had already passed her NCLEX let me use her U World account that was good until August 2nd. I took that time to go through the questions and write down a bunch of rationales in a notebook. And practiced questions on there.

I reviewed my U World notes prior to my NCLEX. Back in July, I was discouraged by my U World scores so I decided that UWorld was not quite enough and decided.

So that I was going to complete Hurst Review in its entirety like Aunt Marlene says. I focused a lot on content for my second attempt.

Regarding the Hurst Review, I went at my own pace after the U World account expired. I took the month of August and first half of September to watch/study all of the Hurst content videos.

I went through them very slowly and as I was watching them, I focused on understanding the “why” behind patho, S&S, nursing interventions, etc. If I didn’t understand something,

I utilized the message icon on the videos and typed questions to Hurst review. They would get right back with me within 24 hrs or less. Very helpful. After I finished a chapter on Hurst, I would study the content from the Hurst book plus any extra notes I took from the videos and then do the post content quiz after each chapter. Then I’d move on to the next chapter.

When I was eventually done with all the videos, I then took a month to review all my Hurst and U World notes and my Hurst book. I reviewed one Hurst chapter a day studying the content cover to cover.

Part 2 we will provide after publishing part 1.

Part Two Truth Nclex Examination Experience

PART TWO TRUTH NCLEX EXAMINATION EXPERIENCE

In August and Sept., I also made 3-5 drug cards a day from the Hurst resource documents regarding all of the medications/Pharm they have listed under resource documents.

I didn’t have time to go through every single resource document, but I made sure to especially review Pharm, study

The infection resource documents, growth and development, and maternity complications documents. I followed Hurst’s check list that you see after each Hurst video chapter.

I completed the Q customizer questions as I progressed with the videos, remediated on their questions, and wrote down rationales in another notebook. The check list would say to do 25 adult health questions, 10 pharm, 25 maternity, 25 Peds, 50-100 management of care, etc.

I followed their check list. I had already done 2 Q simulators before my first NCLEX attempt and scored in the high 60 range out of 125.
I took the 3rd simulator 4 days prior to my second NCLEX and got concerned because I got 66/125. 77/125 is the median score. Well, I got out of the house to get away from it a bit, remediated on it and realized some silly mistakes I made on it.

For the 4th simulator, I got 78/125 and this was 2 days prior to my NCLEX. I took the day before the NCLEX off and just reviewed my answers to the 4th simulator the night before my NCLEX. Probably from 8-10 pm.

Then went to bed and the next day went to my NCLEX with confidence. Overall, Hurst was super helpful to me and gave me so much more confidence. I highly recommend this review.

It works if you do exactly what it says. Anyhow, do not let NCLEX stress you out more than you need to be. My NCLEX was very much like Hurst and U World.

I recommend U World if you want/need extra practice with questions, but overall for me, I know Hurst is what really helped me pass. Be sure to equally do both content review and practice questions.

Read the question 3-4x if you need to in order to make sure you understand what the question is asking. If you’re torn between 2 answers, think safety. Don’t feel rushed when taking NCLEX. I ran out of time on question 229, but I stayed calm and took my time and passed.

Don’t tell many people when you’re taking NCLEX except the people that need to know. And after graduation, don’t feel rushed to set a test date.

Be sure you are ready for it so you don’t stress out more than you need to. And follow the checklist/do what Hurst says and you can definitely pass. The Hurst Elevate practice quizzes also helped too. And best/most of all, trust God to carry you through. God will get you through this test.

 Another thing to remember:

nursing school graduates, just remember you got through the hard part (nursing school). NCLEX is just one more nursing exam. Just one more nursing exam. You got through the program taking nursing exams so you definitely got this. Be calm and don’t let anxiety get you. All the best.

Nclex Examination Experience By Maria

NCLEX EXAMINATION EXPERIENCE

By -MARIA TERASA TOLENTINO

Indeed it’s true that PRAYERS worked. This testimonial has been running in my head few days now so this maybe quite long to read but hopefully to inspire others.

I took my NCLEX-RN on October 18, 2019 as an 8th timer. 1995 graduate.

1st- 2007, I was 3 months pregnant (75 q)
2nd - 2008, I was 7 months pregnant (86 q)
3rd and 4th - twice in 2016 months before we moved to the US. (can’t remember how many questions)
5th - 2017 April (125 q)
6th - 2017 August (156 q)
7th - 2018 June (265 q)

I felt that this time around, I had more knowledge and more confident than the last 7 times. I am a mom of 2 and worked full time when I was in the UK. Then we moved here in the US late 2016. Still in transition, I took the test 5th time, wasn’t ready at all but more like pressured to do it. After the 7th time, I took my time, not feeling the pressure of doing it too soon. Then I found this FB page, Remar page, sample questions posted in this page which are really helpful. I heard of Mark K (listened to him about 3x), LaCharity (bought the book but never used it) and other resources that I only knew late last year.  A friend let me borrow his ATI book which I find very good, very concise and direct to the point.

It took me 5 1/2hrs, 265 questions, 2 breaks to finally make it! I had 2 calculations (ml/hr), lots of SATA, about 4-5 drag and drop, 3 ECG strips, lots of psyche, prioritization and delegations, lots of teachings. And my last question was about tertiary prevention SATA, and I was like, that’s it, I will fail (cos I can’t remember anything about tertiary-I know first and secondary)

But God is so good, He heard my plea! I have to say I don’t have that much of an organization when it comes to studying, I just try to study when I can maybe up to an hour even though my kids are around. There were lots of temptations at home so I suggest going to the library when u can, is a good place to do it. I have my kids as motivation, their future and me and my husband’s retirement in the future.

I thank the people who prayed for me one way or the other. I am blessed! So never give up, keep the faith and pray, pray, pray! Good luck for the future!
